Jenny Lea Academy of Cosmetology students learn all aspects of the Cosmetology field using the MiLady training system. The program taught is called Milady Standard Cosmetology and the course books used are The Essential Companion (Study Guide) and Exam Review (Click on the Consumer Disclosure link for ISBN for these books). You will be well trained in an assortment of cosmetology fundamentals including the following:

  • Hair-cutting & Hair-styling

  • Comprehensive Makeup Application

  • Facial Waxing

  • Manicures & Pedicures

  • Cutting Edge Color Application

  • Chemical Hair Treatments

  • Salon Business

Barber

Jenny Lea Academy Barber Students will learn all aspects of barbering, using the most modern training system. You will be well trained as a professional Barber who cuts, trims, and styles hair for male clients and many women. Barbers provide facial hair maintenance, custom shaves and other mens grooming services.

JLA will help you achieve the goal of becoming the best Barber you can be!

Jenny Lea Academy welcomes Chad Stewart, our Barber Instructor.

Mr. Stewart obtained diverse experience in cutting from all walks of life over the years in Mississippi, Georgia, Texas and also Nashville. His goal is to help as many students as possible to reach their full potential and gain confidence to become an outstanding Barber.

The program is 1500 hours; 10-12 months (on a full-time schedule) at a cost of $13,700 for tuition, $1,300 for books and supplies and $100 registration fee.

Full-Time Cosmetology or Barber Class Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

Part-Time Cosmetology or Barber Class Schedule: Tuesday – Friday, 8:30 am – 1:00 pm, Saturday, 8:30 am – 4:30 pm   (On a part-time schedule, the cosmetology or barber program will take 15-17 months to complete.)
